I need a gps system that can accurately give me latitude and longitude and altitude in every country for doing fieldwork but I’d also like to use it as a sat nav in the car for Europe or Ireland at least.does such a thing exist.battery life is kind of important too.

I’ve looked at getting a new map from Garmin which is £79GBP or something but there are Garmin sat navs on Amazon for less than this!
My Nuvi is only about 2 yrs old and is fine - am I totally missing something with the maps?! Is there somewhere to get them cheaper?
