Lick it, or put it on the dash!

Welcome to my world. Marvelous aren’t they? They always fall off just as you’re going round a corner. I am tempted to try No More Nails or Araldite but then I’ll never get it off again.

    moisten it
push it really hard enough, it should stick…
is there a little lever thing you can pull on it?

make sure the glass is SQUEAKY clean - use some expensive glass cleaner - then as the posters above have suggest, a little bit of spit - works a treat!

You need to make sure your windscreen is clean try wiping with methylated spirit or similar and wet the rubber cup slightly I have a job to remove mine sometimes good luck.

egg white will keep it sticking to your window. Just make sure your windscreen is clean, free of grease and dry then rub the egg white onto the sucker and push it onto the screen.Once the egg white has dried, it wont budge.

You have to give it a lick. I have the same problem.

A drop of vingar on the SUCKER cup and apply to windscreen it usally works

your sucker is not making a good seal, I use a sucker for one of my camera mounts and that would not stay on for long, there are two ways of doing this if your still want to take it off when you need to then a thin layer of Vaseline will do the job. But if you want it fix permanently then a small drop of superglue in the center of it will fix it.

    Hello,

    (ANS) HOW WHY!!

The Tom Tom, or Satnav window mounting device will only stay on the glass provided the mounting cup forms a perfect seal with the window surface. The mounting cup is designed to form a total vacuum against the glass surface and this is why it must be clean to start with.

Human saliva or a small amount of moisture should be placed on the inside surface of the mounting cup, next the mounting cup should be pressed firmly against the glass and a vacuum created. If this is done correctly the vacuum should hold the mounting satnav firmly in position until journeys end.

What I do with mine is lick it and then put it on the windscreen, sounds disgusting I know but it’s the only way that works!

  • WAYNE C says:

    lick the sucker.

  • raels1 says:

this really sux (or not). sorry bout that.
i would try any of those already answered but think the best might be a squeaky clean windscreen and push like h*** all round after giving it a good licking of course. maybe consider making up or finding a box or container to sit it in which would mean you could remove or hide it when you leave the car to save it being stolen. good luck i will be interested in what may work as i am purchasing a GPS for my son
