Does metallic window tinting on IS250 cause disruption to the sat-nav system?

Bluey asked:

I have a choice between matallic tints or dye tints and want to know if my preferred metallic tint is OK. I’ve been told by Lexus dealer that metallic tints will probably cause major disruption to the performance of the sat nav.

My tint blocks the satellite reception so i would go with yes. I have XM with 10% all around. You can put it in the windshield.

I did the same and it affected the navigation system on my car. When I got the windows tinted the car would not track on the right road on the map- like it was driving across fields and through rivers…after a while it seemed to adapt- don’t know how it did though.

Metals interfere with satellite reception, cell phones, AM radios etc.

Ceramic and nano-ceramic window films provide solar control without any metals - -period. The FormulaOne Pinnacle Film is the best of breed. This films has zero metals.
