I have just bought a samsung i900, Iwas going to buy a sat nav for my car aswell but have been told I can use my phone. Will I be charged for using sat nav on my phone and how do I go about getting it on the phone.
if you have unlimited anytime data access then its free as sat nav just uses a data connection to a satellite, but if like me you only have evening and weekend acces then you`ll be charged (quite a chunk) mine is £3 per 1 meg, so adds up.
Google maps are ok, if your driving to a town and you know the way there ,and then you can maybe use google to find the house, but no good if your driving, and will still use a data connection to update your location.
you do have gps on this phone so there are options open to you to download something like tomtom navigator 6, but this does have an annual cost. i believe Garmin have software for mobile phones too (at a cost). Just go to their relevant site and do some home work.
if you have GPS on it, just go to on the phones internet browser and downoload google maps! Works just as good (to the nearesr 2km)
